Carpet Beetles & Clothes Moths
Adults are 1/16 to 1/8 inches long, oval in appearance, with wing covers that meet at the rear end of the body. The back of the carpet beetle is spotted with gray-yellow, brown and white scales which form two bands across the top. The bottom side of the body is gray to yellow. The larvae feed on a wide variety of foods including carpets, silk, plant products, furs, leather book binding and other insects. Adults feed on pollen and enter homes through opened windows and doors.
