Ladybugs
They are brightly colored, red, brown, or black with red spots, hemisphereal in shape and 1/16" to 1/4 inches long. Adults have 3 segments and lay eggs orange in color, on plants infested with aphids. These pests are beneficial as the Larvae and adults eat a variety of outdoor ornamental pests such as aphids, whiteflies and other soft bodied insects and their eggs. Adults are attracted to light and overwinter under rocks, bark, landscape timber, and occasionally homes and other structures.
Ladybugs are beneficial insects and pose no threat to health or property.
